The Picture of Dorian Gray
On Wednesday I watched The Picture of Dorian Gray set in 1945 and it portraits a human greed, a contract with the devil.
Dorian Gray is a young handsome and wealthy man, whose desire is to live forever and do the ordinary business that he does forever and as long as he could. Dorian Gray hired a famous artist and draws a portrait of Dorian Gray standing next to an ancient Egyptian cat that has cursing powers. However Dorian Gray didn’t know about such dark magic that the cat possessed. Once the portrait was done, Dorian Gray was amazed to see himself and wished that he could live forever young even if it cost him to sell his soul.
As for me Dorian Gray the movie was an extremely well Directed movie and an astonishing story. To think that the drawn portrait is living along with the real physical human body but only the portrait is ageing and the human is remaining young. The idea is brilliant and the whole story fits so well and very interesting. From the moment the movie starts it captures your attention and just makes you want to be keep watching the movie.
I would certainly buy the book and fully understand the whole story.
Baja! At last! Hi there - sorry, somehow I haven't had your blog on my system here - you must think I've been neglecting you! My mistake; anyway - see below; I see you're following a few blogs already, but below are all the student blogs so far made available to me.
Really pleased you enjoyed the life-drawing classes! I think your group has a strong energy, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing all your portraits at the final presentation. Anyway - I'll be in touch more often now... speak to you soon - and I look forward to hearing your thoughts about Dorian Gray...
